Between the wine country venues and Old Town, Temecula hosts a lot of weddings, and the good hair and makeup dates fill up. This is the timeline we walk our brides through at Salon on 3rd, from booking your team to the morning of the wedding.
As soon as you have a date, book your team
Once your venue and date are set, reach out about hair and makeup. Spring and fall are busy in the Temecula Valley, and a big wedding party needs a bigger team, so earlier is better. Have these details ready when you inquire:
- Your date, venue, and ceremony time
- How many people need hair, makeup, or both
- Whether you want to get ready at the salon or have us come to you
Salon on 3rd does bridal hair and makeup in the salon on 3rd Street or on location, with group packages for wedding parties.
A few months out: color, extensions, and skin
If you want new color, extensions, or a series of facials, start well before the trial. The trial should show your hair the way it will look on the day, so color and extensions come first.
It's also a good time for a facial consultation. Skin usually does better on a plan than on one treatment the week of the wedding.
Two to three months out: the trial run
The trial is where you and your stylist settle on the look. Bring:
- Photos of styles you love, and a few you don't
- A photo of your dress, or a description of the neckline
- Any hair accessories or the veil you plan to wear
If you can, wear a top close in color to your dress, and take photos in daylight before you leave. Block out enough time that the trial doesn't feel rushed.
The month before
- Get a trim or a gloss if your stylist recommends one.
- Book lash, brow, and nail appointments. Lash lifts, brow lamination, and manicures are all on the Salon on 3rd menu.
- Confirm the final headcount and the order of services with your stylist.
The week of
Don't try new skincare or treatments now. Confirm the arrival time and address, and make sure everyone getting ready knows the plan.
The wedding morning
Arrive with clean, dry hair unless your stylist tells you otherwise, and wear a button-up shirt so nothing has to go over your head later. Brides usually go last so their hair and makeup are freshest for photos. Eat something, drink water, and leave extra time, because wedding mornings almost always run a little long.
Other events
The same team styles engagement photos, proms and formals, photo shoots, and corporate and media events. The planning is shorter, but a trial still helps for anything important.
